I just bought a spacesaver 6 and after 12 hours of use, the pump became unbearably loud.  I noticed that when I pinched the air tube at the back of the unit, the noise decreased noticeably.  I placed a clamp on the hose, and though the number of bubbles dropped off a little, I still think it should be enough for the 6 plants.  If anyone has a unit with aerator pump and stone, this may be at least a temporary solution.  If anyone knows of a more permanent solution, I'm open to ideas.  I may have to install an external pump.  We'll see.

After only 12 hours I think I would contact AG CS and see what they can do.  May just be a bad pump.

Did this method hold up over time?

My new spacesaver 6 doesnt have an exposed airtube. I only tested it with water and no pods so far and I can't stand the noise. I have a classic 7 and its quiet. I'm about to pack the SS6 up and give it to my mother but I hope to salvage it with some sort of mod.
