I just made myself some mint tea from my aerogarden Smiley  Its very yummy, just mint and water and some sugar for sweetening and it actually feels quite good on my throat!!  Now if I only had enough to drink some more tea later!!!  I'm not a tea drinker and I LOVE IT!!!!

We used all our mint for tea.  Sometimes by itself like you have and other times added to regular orange pekoe tea.  Before a member suggested the tea, I really had no idea what I'd use it for.

Hope you get over the cold soon!  Smiley

Hmmm, wish I'd thought of that before I threw away a gigantic bush of it.  Smiley
I did harvest what grew back, though, and froze it.

So do you steep the fresh leaves or dry them first?
And how much do you use?

Now might go ahead and plant that other mint pod that I have.

I used the fresh cuttings, including the stems.  Maybe that's not right, I didn't think just to take the leaves.  Huh

In terms of amount there would normally be at least five or six cuttings which I'd use in one of those personal tea pots.  Sometimes there would be a lot more and I'd use a regular tea pot.

I just cut off all the bigger stems/leaves (probably about a teaspoon), crushed them in my hands for a minute or so, just to get the juices flowing.  Then put some water in my mug, with the stems and leaves, microwaved for like 3 minutes, took it out and just put a towel over top of the cup to make sure all the good mint oils didn't try to escape!!  Then I put it through a strainer to get the leaves out and that was it.  YUMMY!!!!  Now I'm wishing I had more mint, for more tea  hahah!

Amy, before you know it, you'll have more mint than you can drink!  Mint grows so well in AGs.

I always cut up the (fresh) leaves & stems and add it to unflavored regular tea... yum.

Feel better soon!

Thanks Sharon!!!  Now I can't wait for the mint to get bigger, so that I can have more of that tea!!!
