I was very excited to receive my Black Friday purchase in the mail today--an Aerogarden 6 Elite. My husband set it up (he jumping in and assembling it while cautious me carefully reviewed the manual).

However, the manual states that you should add tablets, but only packets full of nutrient liquid were included with the kit.  We guessed and added 2 packets to the water. Is that sufficient?  Thanks!

The reference guide that came with my heirloom tomato kit and liquid nutrients states:

Every 2 weeks you will need to add two nutrient packets to the Bowl.

First two feedings: Add two Starting/Small nutrient packets.

All remaining feedings: Add two Large nutrient packets.

Welcome to the forum maryacat!

Yes, that sounds familiar.  Husband putting things together, pushing all the buttons while I'm still going through the manual.  Wink

It's not just men, Shane.  I rarely read the instructions, especially for stuff like the AGs that are pretty much self-explanatory.  Cheesy

Your posts about "don't need no stinkin' manual" crack me up.  Cheesy My husband always seems surprised when I suggest looking at the manual.

Here's the response I received from Aerogrow:
"We are in the process of switching to liquid nutrients and we apologize that you did not receive up to date directions.  If you received the 8 ml packets, you will need to add 1 packet per feeding (every two weeks).  Please shake well before adding."

Since I received 4 ml. packets, it looks like we did the correct thing by adding 2 packets. Yea!

See, I knew I needed to be here!

I got the liquid packets too, and had directions that called for tablets, not a mention of liquid anywhere.  I added two also.  I think they're all small, but will check them now.

Hi --

Finally got my long-awaited Pro 200 and the Herb Garden is ready to go.  Like others, mine came with liquid nutrients and not tablets.  Just to confirm:  it's 1 8ml packet per feeding cycle, right?  I didn't see anything in the box about that (the instructions just talk about tablets).

I have my extra pump in hand, just in case.  Anything else I should be thinking about?  Any tips for getting started?  Also, I have maybe 8 nutrient packs.  What should I do when I run out?  Will it be replanting time by then, or do I just order more?  I'm hoping, if all goes well, to use the AG for herbs until springtime, then plant herbs outside and maybe got with tomatoes and jalapenos.  Does that make sense?  Any other recommendations for someone who's just getting started?

Thanks.  Off to dump in the nutrients and plug the AG in for the first time.  Wish me luck!

For future reference, here is the link for AG liquid nutrient instructions:  http://www.aerogrow.com/community/images/stories/file/Seed_Kit_Guide.pdf

For your herb kit, the AG instructions state:

8 ml Packet 6/7-Pod Gardens Use 1 Packet per Feeding
Herb & Salads - use for all feedings
Vegetables & Flowers - use 8 ml packet at startup

You can extend your garden's life by ordering more nutrients (either from AG or another brand) or you can transplant your herbs to pots or your outside garden.

Congratulations on your first AG!  Your herbs should start sprouting in the next few days!

My 6 pod herb kit came with 4ml packets and with instructions to add 2 each feeding.

Wouldn't it be a pain if you had an AG3 and 8ml packets?
