Here are a few photos of my dad's AG3 project, and as you can see...very successful.
He is thrilled  Grin because he has a hard time growing in his machines. Each pod has a big flower
with buds on each also.

The seeds used were Red & Yellow Swizzle Zinnia from Park's Seed online store.
I grew the Cherry & White Swizzles and had a successful garden and am now growing another
Swizzle Zinnia project which is coming along right smartly!

If you are looking for a seed that will grow, no matter what, get the Swizzle Zinnias from Park.
and , no..I don't work for the company  Wink

They're beautiful!  A great choice for your Dad to brighten the winter.  I've noticed your posts about vegetables not doing so well at his place - did the green beans get going for him?

Thanks for inquiring, bab.  They are beginning to get flowers now.
We had trouble initially with germination and tried the process again germinating outside the AG.
Then the leaves began to brown and he was using distilled water and the kit tabs.  I did
a dump and refill and tried the suggested Epsom Salts and...VOILA" it worked like a charm.
Now we are crossing our fingers for the flowering stage to take fully.  One stage at a time with bated breath.

That's really good to hear.  I used a calcium-magnesium supplement on my second round of beans and the pods started growing thicker.  It looked rather odd at first because part of the pod was thin with a much thicker bottom.  I wasn't sure what the deficiency was on my leaves but if the Epsom salts worked for you, it sounds like it was magnesium.  Hope the beans grow well.  I had lots of baby beans dropping but still managed to get a decent crop.

Thanks for the update.

Above I posted some photos of my Dad's Zinnias in his AG3.
Today I post some eye candy of my Ag3 growing my Swizzle Zinnias in both colors.

I planted 2 yellow/red seeds(1 in each pod) and 1 white/cherry
which you can see is starting to open now.

I used the AG solid nutes and Dad used the UltraGrow Liquid Nutes in his project.

Both are turning out nicely. The blooms measure about 3" in diameter...a good size.

I do notice that there is some browning on the green leaf edges more so with the liquid and the
machine requires a weaker mix.His has many more buds forming on each plant now than mine, though.  Easy Peasy!!!

I am inclined to use liquid..however, I do have many strips of the solid nutes in my freezer from past kits, and I am not a waster!  Roll Eyes

Thanks, azure. You should go for it..the buds are colossal!
But, then again, if you don not like zinnias, maybe not.
But who knows..maybe you will grow to like them.(pun intended)   Roll Eyes

Those are so beautiful, Corinne!  The shots that are a little more distant and looking down at the garden makes them look a little like water lilies on a pond.  Monet would dig your garden.  :^)

Just to give an idea of the size of the flower from this seed,
 I have posted a photo with a quarter as a  gauge;

WOW!  if those zinnias are producing money, maybe i WILL try them!   Cheesy

honestly tho, even tho i dont like the flower themselves that much, i love the big leafy dark green foliage.  the plant has beautiful shape and color.  ive just never liked most of the flowers in the aster family.

your plants look so healthy and happy!

I am not usually an indoor flower person, but boy those are pretty. I always tell myself that I should plant some flowers, but I can't seem to give up the spots from my herbs and veggies.  When it comes time to plant things outside, I will get back to starting my hibiscus and marigolds in the empty ags.  But keep the pics coming - I love seeing what everyone grows in their aerogardens. Good job!

Thanks OC. I guess the reason I grow the flowers in the winter
is because I like a cool house. Veges like a hot house.  However, I did
order some micro toms and am going to give those a try in one of the AG3 machines
when the seeds  arrive next week. I have never grown micros.

Although I normally don't order seeds from across the border, I put in an order for these from Park Seeds this week.  I just love these every time you post - GORGEOUS!  Smiley
