Please help me pick one! I am leaning to the salad burnet or cilantro since I am getting ready to plant basil outside.

     Hi Ellen,
I voted Basil, because I love pesto.  Cilantro tastes like soapy water to me, but I know a lot of people out there love it.  Hope you have a great time planting whatever you decide.

Tomande tomato; heirloom shape with hybrid yield!

Cilantro; works well in a number of dishes.

As for my arguments; everyone has enough basil when it grows outside (one plant can get pretty big..), and salad burnet.. well you throw it in salad.. that's about it.

That's kinda where I think I'm heading MJ. When I grew basil outside last year I had more than I knew what to do with and shared with thrilled coworkers.

Cilantro wins. Off to clean out the AG and plant it.

     Ellen,
Glad you got the Cilantro gene.   Most of the people who have this adaptation find Cilantro to be citrus or lemony and very refreshing.  As for me well this website pretty much sums it up:

I can't wait to see pictures of your new planting.  Cool

Hehehe Dave. That's a funny site. I absolutely can't wait to have some fresh cilantro on hand. The one pod that I did in a combined herb/salad garden had only just started to take off when the rest of the garden was pretty much toast, so I am really hopeful that I can get a decent crop of it on it's own in a 3 pod when it can all grow at the same rate.
